Age: Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualificaiton (s):
EDUCATIONAL
i)Master’s Degree in Tamil or Telugu or Malayalam or Kannada with Ancient Indian History as a subject at Bachelor’s degree level from a recognised University.
OR
Master’s degree in History with Ancient Indian History as a subject and Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s degree level from a recognized University.
ii) Doctorate degree in any of the above subject.
EXPERIENCE
Five years’ experience in copying, deciphering and editing of inscription in the concerned discipline.
Duty(ies):
i)Preparation of annual programme for Epigraphist work and its execution according to the prescribed time schedule.
ii) To undertake extensive tour for discovery, interpretation and decipherment of Epigraphs/Interpretation after taking stumpages.
iii) To bring out critical notes on the various aspects of the Epigraphical like stone, wood, sculptures, bronzes and wood work etc.
Probation: one year.
Other Details:General Central Service, Group ‘A’ Gazetted, Non-Ministerial
