Essential Function: The Manager's essential function is to drive projects, with regard to timelines, quality and resources. General responsibilities include supervision and management of staff; with special attention to training and skill set development. The manager is responsible for the execution and production of quality results for individual projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory and PAREXEL procedures and processes, identifying areas of improvement. Ensure proactive planning takes place and provide issue resolution for the team.
Directly Supervises Biostatisticians, Biostatistical Programmers ' Provides Work Direction to Biostatisticians, Biostatistical Programmers and Administration Assistants ' Works Closely with Functional Directors and Managers, Clinical Data Programming, Business Operations, Account Management, Financial Analysts, Clinical, Data Management, Project Management, Project Team Members, Quality Management, IT and Human Resources '
External Relationships Sponsor counterparts and teams (if needed), third party vendors, auditors, inspectors and regulators
Key Accountabilities: ' Ensure that Statistical deliverables adhere to ICH GCP and Statistical guidelines, as well as other applicable industry standards and that processes comply with PAREXEL SOPs and other written procedures
Undertake the full range of activities relating to the leadership, management and development of the team to ensure their performance meets or exceeds both business and personal goals/objectives; '
Maintain a positive, results orientated work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, communicating to the team in an open, balanced and objective manner;
Participate in the formal review processes e.g. performance and salary reviews to corporate standards and timescales;
Provide support and mentoring to staff on Biostatistics procedures, processes and concepts to ensure the highest standards of quality, productivity, planning, client service, and compliance are achieved.
Identifying and addressing areas of improvement in Biostatistics; ' Proactive identification, resolution and referral of employee issues potentially impacting work assignments and personal performance;
Plan and manage resources across the projects / staff, including active involvement in interviewing, retention, and absence issues. Ensure that staff utilization and productivity expectations are met. Ensure the appropriate type and skill level of personnel are assigned;
Report on project related issues to senior management as appropriate; ' Represent PAREXEL to the highest of professional standards, both internally and in external liaison with clients, potential clients, competitor organizations and auditors;
Contribute to project bids as required; ' Where required, take on role of Biostatistics (BS) Lead, taking responsibility for the full range of BS services. Ensure quality, timeline, and productivity requirements are met or exceeded. Included in this are project planning and implementation, milestone tracking, organization and participation in team meetings;
Cooperate with counterparts in other locations as required; ' Other responsibilities as assigned. Skills ' Thorough knowledge of SAS, applicable regulatory guidelines and Windows applications
