The Project Manager (PM) delivers Best Value services for the benefit of our clients, employees, and investors through the application of computer and communications technologies along with innovations in information management, data collections and analysis, and integrated global processes. The Project Manager will work with Business units and project teams to identify business solutions (technology and process changes) which will improve business efficiency, productivity and drive revenue.
The Project Manager is a key member of project teams that may deliver solutions to a variety of business needs, specific to each project. These projects may require new technology solutions, enhancements or customizations, and the PM will define and deliver on projects to meet business needs, working with Business and System stakeholders, and cross functional teams. The Project Manager will also work with Product Owner (PO), Business Analyst (BA), Technical Lead (TL) and with Scrum team(s) on technology projects to deliver solutions.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the management and leadership of cross functional project teams working on IT projects to support PAREXEL's clinical and business users, including releases and/or upgrades to new or existing systems.
- Provides full project lifecycle support (focusing on a Software Development Lifecycle) from requirements definition though post deployment and go live activities, to formal project close out.
- Responsible for the development of detailed project plan, budget, capacity plans, risk response strategies and task management to achieve project objectives.
- Ensures compliance with internal policies, processes and procedures as well as applicable industry regulations (i.e., 21 CFR part 11).
- Responsible for identification, negotiation and procurement of all project-related items, including third party software solutions.
- Drive and facilitate the project team to successful completion of project within budget, on schedule, and within quality standards.
- Drives Change Management and Impact Analysis activities to facilitate responsible and informed decision making.
- Provide status reporting to executive management, stakeholders, and team on progress toward objectives.
- Make decisions with cross functional teams and escalate to Steering Committee as needed.
- Manage and ensure all project issues are resolved promptly to avoid negative impact to project deliverables (scope, budget, schedule, etc.).
- Maintain a positive, results orientated work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, communicating to the team in an open, balanced and objective manner.
Skills:
- High level of business and financial acumen, with proven ability to manage scope, budget and risk.
- Effective organizational skills and time management skills, with ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated team-building experience.
- Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
- Experience in Microsoft Project and other project management tools, including knowledge of and ability to utilize implementation methodologies and deliverable templates (Resource Plan; Work Plan; Test Plan; Implementation Plan; etc.) .
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and contribute in a team environment
Must have a history of successful project implementations.
- Client focused approach to work.
- A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning.
- Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail.
- Willingness to work in a matrix environment and to value the importance of teamwork.
Education:
- BS in Business or Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience.
Language Skills
- Proficiency in verbal and written English
Minimum Work Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years proven project management experience managing technology projects which include business process, technology and training deliverables.
- PMI certification is a plus with experience utilizing Agile Project Management methodologies.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies (preferably Scrum). Certification as Scrum Master is a plus.
- Experience working in diverse, international organization.
- Project Management experience in Pharmaceutical Industry/Management of Clinical Trials/Drug Approval Process/Medical Device industry or relevant experience in a regulated industry is a plus.
- Experience working in a 21 CFR Part 11 FDA regulated environment is a plus.
